The Part You Cannot See Decides How Long It Lasts
Anyone can set pavers. What separates a surface that still looks right in fifteen years from one that waves and spreads after three is what goes underneath it.
On every job: excavation to the right depth, compacted aggregate base, drainage planned before the surface goes down, buried edge restraint around the perimeter, and polymeric sand swept into the joints.

Signs It Is Time to Repair or Replace
If you are seeing any of these, it is worth a look. Some of it is a repair rather than a rebuild.
01
Sections have settled
A dip or a low spot usually means the base underneath has moved or was never compacted properly. The area gets lifted, the base rebuilt and the same pavers reset.
02
Weeds and ants in the joints
Joint sand washes out over the years. Once the joints are open, seeds and insects get in. Re-sanding closes them back up.
03
Water sits after it rains
Pooling means the pitch or the drainage is not doing its job. That gets solved with grading and a drain line, not by covering it over.
04
Mortar is washing out
On steps and porches, failing mortar joints let water into the structure. Tuck pointing handles it before it becomes a rebuild.
05
Concrete is cracking or flaking
Poured surfaces crack across the slab and the faces spall with age and salt. That is the point where replacing it with pavers is usually worth it.
06
Edges are spreading outward
Pavers creeping outward at the perimeter means the edge restraint has failed. The edge gets reset so the field stops moving.
Common Questions
Why do weeds grow between my pavers, and can it be fixed?
Joint sand washes out over the years, which leaves a gap for seeds and ants. Cleaning the joints out and re-sanding them closes the surface back up. It is a maintenance job, not a rebuild.
One area of my patio has settled. Does the whole thing need redoing?
Usually not. We lift the pavers in that area, rebuild and compact the base underneath, then reset the same units. Only the affected section gets touched.
Water pools in my yard after it rains. Is that something you handle?
Yes. Grading, French drains, dry wells and catch basins are part of what we install. If water is the real problem, that gets solved first, before any surface goes down.
Will new work match the pavers or brick already on my house?
We get as close as the material allows. On restoration we reuse the original units wherever they are sound and keep the existing design, so new work blends in rather than standing out.
Do you take on small projects, or only full backyards?
Both. A single walkway or a set of front steps is a normal job for us, and so is a complete outdoor living space. Call and describe what you have in mind.
