Common Questions
Can a big project be built in phases?
Yes, and plenty are. We design the full space first so the layout, levels and materials are settled, then build it in stages that suit your timing rather than improvising each phase as it comes.
Does an outdoor kitchen need gas, water and power run to it?
It depends on what goes in it. A built-in grill needs a gas line, a sink needs water and a drain, and refrigeration and lighting need power. Those runs are handled during the build rather than added afterward.
Do fire pits and fireplaces need a gas line?
Only the gas ones. A gas fire pit or fireplace needs a line run to it and lights with a switch. Wood burning versions need no utilities at all, but you take on storing wood and clearing ash.
Can a pergola be attached to the house, or does it have to stand alone?
Either works. Attached pergolas tie into the house and extend off the back wall. Freestanding ones sit on their own posts anywhere on the patio. Both are custom built rather than assembled from a kit.
What happens if we want to change something partway through?
Projects do move around once things are in the ground and you can see the space taking shape. We talk it through, adjust the design and the price fairly, and keep you posted rather than presenting a surprise at the end.
